The Laotian giant scorpion or Vietnam forest scorpion, is a large scorpion species reaching about 12 cm in length. They are a communal species, but cannibalism has been known to occur, and if caught, they can be extremely violent even towards their own kind. They are also used to make snake wine (scorpion wine) and are consumed as a novelty food.
