The Scarlet Mormon has a wingspan of  12 - 14 cm and is found in the Philippines. The male has large scarlet red patches on the ventral side (underside) of it's velvet black wings. In contrast, the female has distinct red markings on both sides of the wings with highlights around the wing veins.
